1) From Humble Beginnings to Landscaping Excellence
From a young age, I understood the power of hard work, persistence, and transformation. My journey into landscaping started as early as 9 years old, knocking on doors, asking to mow lawns.
While most kids were playing, I was learning the value of sales—understanding that a good product and confidence could open doors.
2) Learning the Craft
Between 7th grade and my senior year of high school, I spent countless hours working with my neighbor, Lynn, maintaining properties for my landlord. This wasn’t just mowing grass—it was hands-on training in lawn care, landscaping, and the small details that separate a basic yard from a well-maintained property.
That experience shaped my skills and knowledge, laying the foundation for what would become Decker Landscape & Design.
3) Sales Meets Landscaping
At 14, I took my first real job at Weed Man Lawn Care, where I quickly became a top sales leader. Knocking on doors and presenting services helped me develop strong communication skills and a deep understanding of what customers need.
I learned how to build trust, offer solutions, and provide value—skills that later became the backbone of my business.
4) From Trades to Entrepreneurship
After graduating high school in 2019, I worked as an electrician before later transitioning into painting parking lot stalls. While both jobs provided valuable experience, my passion for landscaping never faded. In 2023, I took the leap and launched my business under the name Drake Mows Lawns LLC.
What started as a small mowing operation quickly grew, and by 2024, I rebranded to Decker Landscape & Design, expanding into full-service landscaping.
5) Expanding the Vision
As demand grew, so did my business. In 2024, I took over the old Van Zeeland’s nursery property in Little Chute, expanding into mulch and rock sales while continuing to provide high-quality landscaping services.
Now, Decker Landscape & Design is more than just a landscaping company—it’s a business built on a lifetime of experience, a passion for transformation, and a commitment to quality.
6) The Future of Decker Landscape & Design
My goal isn’t just to run a successful business; it’s to build a respected brand in Little Chute and beyond. Whether it’s creating beautiful landscapes, expanding material sales, or growing a skilled team, I’m focused on business growth and leaving a lasting impact in the community.
